Deposit / Authorization Policy

Security Deposit

A security deposit may be required for your rental. Depending on the vehicle and rental terms, the deposit may be authorized as a temporary hold on your payment card or charged to your card at the time specified during the booking process.

Deposit Amount

The required security deposit may vary depending on the vehicle category, rental duration, and applicable rental terms. The exact deposit amount will be communicated to you before or at the time of booking.

When the Deposit Is Taken

The security deposit or authorization hold may be placed at the time of booking or at vehicle pickup, depending on the rental terms and payment method.

What the Deposit Covers

The security deposit may be used to cover any applicable charges resulting from the rental, including:

  • Vehicle damage or loss
  • Excessive cleaning or smoking-related cleaning fees
  • Fuel or refueling charges
  • Tolls and related charges
  • Traffic, parking, or other unpaid charges
  • Administrative or processing fees
  • Missing equipment, accessories, or vehicle items
  • Any other authorized charges arising from the rental agreement
Release of the Deposit

If no additional charges or damage are identified after the vehicle is returned and the final inspection is completed, the security deposit authorization will typically be released within 7–14 business days.

The actual time for the funds to become available may vary depending on your bank or card issuer.

Damage or Outstanding Charges

If documented vehicle damage, excessive cleaning, unpaid tolls, fuel charges, missing equipment, or other unresolved charges are identified after return, the deposit may be held longer or applied toward the applicable charges.

Additional payment may be required if the total amount owed exceeds the security deposit.

By booking a vehicle, you acknowledge and agree to the applicable security deposit and authorization requirements provided for your rental.
